MUDVAYNE Sorry For Missing Virginia Show

February 18, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: MUDVAYNE has been on a "guerilla" club tour of the U.S. for the past several weeks and lead singer Chad Gray has been battling some sort of flu bug for most of that time. But it got the best of him in Springfield, Virginia on February 16, forcing the band to cancel that night's show. Gray said there is nothing he dislikes more than not being able to perform. "The single worst thing that I hate, more than anything, is letting people down," he said. "Whether it be my band, whether it be a kid that was set to come to the show and excited about it and drove for ten minutes or drove for an hour. I mean, it's just unfortunate, but I just cannot — it just came to a boiling point, I went, 'We have got to stop.' But to the kids in Springfield, Virginia, I'm truly sorry, and thank you very much for understanding, I appreciate it."

The rest of the band stayed inside the club to meet fans and sign autographs, which drummer Matt McDonough said was the least they could do. "When they announced the cancellation, we said, 'Hey anybody that wants to stick around, walk 'em in and we'll sign autographs and shake hands.' So basically we did a meet-and-greet with the whole concert," he said. "You can only say so much or do so much, but at least, you know, we wanted to put forth the gesture."

The band was scheduled to finish their current tour last night at CBGB in New York City.

MUDVAYNE's third major label album, "Lost And Found", is slated for release on April 12. The first single from the album, "Happy?", is shooting up the rock radio charts.

The band filmed a video earlier this week for "Happy?" which will utilize digital effects by Cause & f(x) Pictures, known for their work on "The Matrix Reloaded" and "X-Men".
